They say Happiness is a choice.
How do you feel about that statement?
So many people live most of their days being unhappy. Feeling sad. Lacking a sense of satisfaction & Contentment. Such was I for umpteen of years.
You see, I was married for over 25 years. The husband was not perfect, but he was home every night. He washed my car, & changed the oil. He cooked dinner and often cleaned up the kitchen. His paycheck was handed over to me to pay the bills that I managed. A stipend was given back to him from that paycheck.
He bathed the children and drove them to Sunday school, soccer, and any after-school events. We went on vacations, movies, and dinner at times. There was much laughter in our home along with the fights. Yes, he was not perfect, but now that I look back. Now that I hear other women complain about their men I realize that mine…the one I took for granted was actually close to perfect…in spite of his faults.
I knew he loved me, there was no doubt there. But the oddest thing is that I was never truly happy. I wonder though, did I know what happiness really was. No…I don’t think so.
Growing up in a home where affection was not evident. Where hugs were never given. I knew nothing of emotional love.
Is emotional love really love anyway?
Fast forward to now. Looking back, I realize that this imperfect being really loved me the way he knew how. Looking back I realize that the problem was with me. I did not know what love was. That I had no clue what happiness was.
Now after much reading & studying. Now after learning to understand me. Now that I’ve been awakened, it is safe for me to say I AM HAPPY!
You see, happiness is inside work.
Happiness is my natural God-given state of being. I was just not aware of it.
So, if I ever “FEEL” unhappy, I have learned to turn and look within me…there it lies.
I AM Happy & Happy is Me…
Thank you, God.
No longer do I look for my happiness in a spouse, a partner, a job, or a business. No longer do I look for my happiness in things like money, clothing, cars, houses, vacations.
No longer do I look for my happiness anywhere and from anyone. Why would I look for something that I am? That dwells within me & is me.
I look within.
How about you. Are you searching for happiness? Has your heart been broken by one person or the other? Have you resolved to live an unhappy life devoid of joy, peace & Contentment?
If your response is yes, may I suggest that you begin to practice being still. Spending quiet time by yourself. Question yourself. Look within you to find your life purpose. Spirit who is you & lives within you will guide you to all truth.
Do not waste your precious time pursuing happiness. If you learn to relax, slow down & be still. Happiness will come floating to you on wings. Then you will, on a daily basis, wake up in a state of bubbling happiness. The kind that will attract others just like you.
Look within..
