Wild Blend Rice Recipe Stovetop:
Ingredients:
- 1 cup wild blend rice rinsed well in cold water. Drain
- 1 1/2 cups water
- 1 slice onion chopped
- 1 clove fresh garlic mashed
- Pinch of fresh or dried thyme
- 1 stalk scallion mashed
- 1 tablespoon olive or coconut oil
- 6 whole pimento grains
- Pinch salt to taste
- 1 whole scotch bonnet pepper (optional)
- 1 slice ginger root mashed gently
In a pot, bring water to a boil
Stir in all ingredients
Lower heat. Stir well. Cover with a tight lid.
Cook on low to simmer until tender
Cooks in about 45 minutes
If it’s too dry after 45 minutes, add a bit of water and cook for an additional 10 minutes
Wild blend rice is rich in Fiber, Iron, Calcium, Protein, Potassium to name a few.
