Wild Blend Rice Recipe Stovetop:


  • 1 cup wild blend rice rinsed well in cold water. Drain
  • 1 1/2 cups water
  • 1 slice onion chopped
  • 1 clove fresh garlic mashed
  • Pinch of fresh or dried thyme
  • 1 stalk scallion mashed
  • 1 tablespoon olive or coconut oil
  • 6 whole pimento grains
  • Pinch salt to taste
  • 1 whole scotch bonnet pepper (optional)
  • 1 slice ginger root mashed gently

In a pot, bring water to a boil

Stir in all ingredients

Lower heat. Stir well. Cover with a tight lid.

Cook on low to simmer until tender

Cooks in about 45 minutes

If it’s too dry after 45 minutes, add a bit of water and cook for an additional 10 minutes
